Midnight's Poetry Muse

Calling all poets!

Leukemia - a poem

fragile innocense
demon invades
his name... Leukemia
childhood he raids.

he causes sickness
the treatment is worse
will she survive
this awful curse?

unbearable days
another sleepless night
will her body withstand?
triumph this fight?

Leukemia flee!
leave her body alone
go back to Hell
it's where you belong!

no business here
creating pain
making a mother
go nearly insane.

the poison drink
a magic potion
softens his hold
like a lotion

chemicals to chase
the demon to Hell
Leukemia, you bastard!
let her get well!

Hello Mindy,

Sorry about this late reply. I was thinking as I was reading your poem that one of my favorite authors Anne Rice, had a daughter that died of Leukemia at the age of 6.

Sincerely,
Midnight Starr
