Darrell, You just reminded me of a guy who, I feel, is forcing me to learn to drive. That is with your last comment. No, I mean I could relate your poem to be about other writer's or anybody else. But these are my perceptions anyway.

Try not to think of it as relating only to poetry. There's an old saying that the world is a car gone out of control and worse than that, there's a madman at the wheel...

Darrell, This is a good poem. Besides, isn't this what poets are in a way?

Another great poem. Yes, we do not have heros anymore, just rebels.

Thanks for the comments, Rod. I want to explain something. I'm sure most people (readers) will view my writing as dark. On the surface, it is. I'm not really a dark person, per se. I live in a dark world, though. There is war or ignorance or some ki…

Ahh erotic. Darrell, just to let you know, that if no one responds to your poems. That doesn't mean that they are bad. In fact your poems are great. It is just sometimes people are busy. Besides, it's still summer. And your poem is great. People lov…

-Pigs of War-

Bloody warfields of corpses
skeletal remains, wrought limbs
The reapers are sorrowful & piteous,
their palms and fingers weeping
sick red tears & vomit of bowels,
heaping in garish streams,
rivulets of savagery & lies
Ah, doomed pride

Death herders bear militance
and method and excess & lunacy
Cities where prowess reigned
(megalopolises of disease & spectre)

Do we deserve this way w/the rest?
the murderous thunder of guns
the sound of rockets, projectiles
of fire, obliteration

Women wildly mourning
husbands & sons, fathers
and brothers
Morose lament in the hot noon sun

Desert hell
Let sleepers lie
(Vultures have long been
circling above)

Why?

I wrote Mistook because I had a bad experience yesterday at a writer's group meeting. The organizer and I were the only ones who bothered to show. Anyway, the organizer (whose name is Jessica) proceeded to cut me down because of my writing. And here I thought and believed writers and artists were supposed to be opened minded. Calgary is full of narrow minded people w/provincial attitudes. I know you'll say, "They're everywhere". Yeah, I get it. Don't tell me. You read my words and all you see ar… Continue

Mistook

You will not comprehend or "get" me. You will not
realize my meaning and motive in my own
lifetime. I will have to die for you to finally
understand and see. I accept this. I am at
peace w/it. My message and hope and purpose is
too great, too providential, too mighty and too
metaphysically significant for you to behold
w/the puny soft manacles of your mind.

One day, I will go away. Certainly, a day will
arrive when I must leave you and depart for far
away sands and distant realms of experience.… Continue

The Unwavering Cold Blackness..

The unwavering cold blackness
of the Unknown.
The surrounding gorge of swarming
like a whore’s eager thighs
that grip and writhe her
pitifully devoured lover.

We are swallowed like mice
by the warm sweet mist of night
and the dark highway of night.

Gravel by the side of the road
I have known
w/only the moon’s silvery bathing
cascades to witness the
broken silence of lopsided lonely
footsteps.

Road Days.
Beast fear and
a poet’s dream.

I live like a vandal
in the holy Temple of all creation.… Continue
